I am burnt. Spent too much time in the sun on Saturday and ended up with a bit of a sunburn. I, also, can't help but wonder if I'm suffering from a touch of heat exposure as well. Drinking lots of clear fluids this mornings but it could also be not enough sleep since I didn't go to bed until late.

Anyway, here are the promised pictures I mentioned yesterday, in case anyone is curious. I've resized them and cropped them so they are about 500 pixels at their largest dimension. I really wish my tablet had a back-facing camera. Definitely something to keep in mind for my next purchase.

Maker's Faire was fun but had way too many people for my comfort. I was expecting crowds but there had to be over a thousand people there. The whole thing was part Burning Man, part Itsy, part Commercial Innovation and part tasty food trucks.

I think my favorite parts were the sculptures and vehicles. I likely would have enjoyed other aspects if there hadn't been so many people and waring bluetooth/wifi chatter that seemed to be messing with my hearing aids.

Anyway, onto the photos!

This first guy was pretty awesome as it was animated; the eyes would bug out, the teeth would gnash and the tentacles would weave up and down. Best past is flames would erupt from the ends of the tentacles and the top of the head.

NExt were these neat snake/wyrm car-trains that would give people rides:

This was the darker of the two. I didn't get a picture of the pale one as people were crowding around and I couldn't get the shot.

This was a neat double seater vehicle:

And then there was this mini Nautilus. A little larger than a van, it had a cockpit up top and a passenger compartment below. They were letting people inside the lower compartment (behind the portwindow shown here) but I didn't have time to look.

There was also a neat room which was dark to showcase light sculptures.

It's hard to see from this picture but this dancer was made of a wire mesh with lights inside:

And what event doesn't have a cat car?

In this room was also many performances by Arc Attack but I didn't get any photos since there were so many people in front of me. My inner Hank and Thalia loved the show though.

I could be mistaken, but it looks like the tentacle thing is set up to produce mushroom clouds/smoke rings. Did it?
