bjornwildeSo, according to the new Susan Storm, the Fantastic Four reboot will not only not be based on any of the comic stories, but that she and the other actors have been kept from reading any of the comics. I can kind of understand this for two reasons. One, as a director, I am sure Josh Trank wants to make his own story, and two, if the actors were given the comics, which Fantastic Four would you give them to influence their performance? Kirby's? Byrne's? Wade's? Hickman's? The basic characters are always there but different writers have very different takes on them.
Still, I don't know how Trank portrays women, never having seen any of his movies. I do hope Susan gets to be herself and not arm candy or motivation for he boys. And I do have to say Jamie Bell has bulked up since Jumper and I can almost see him as Ben Grimm now.
In other news, Jessica Drew may have just been given a new power. In this weeks Secret Avengers, a sentient, reality bomb claims she is an empath and the writer has claimed he is bringing something new to the table for her. If so, this could be interesting to work with. Very curious to see how it works with her pheromone powers though.
