More Tybalt

Random head canons that I keep meaning to write into fics but work is not cooperating and giving me the time to do. Spoilers abound.
Tybalt and Tody had the frenemy clashes before her time as a fish. It stems from when Julie and she became friends and Tybalt antipathy perhaps started as blaming Toby for dragging Julie into Devon's influence. I'm thinking when Toby broke free of Devon and Julie stayed behind, Tybalt was forced to accept Julie had made her own choices.
Tybalth returned to harassing Toby as a favor to Lily, who asked him to keep an eye on Toby. Tybalt started by just watching her but as he saw how deeply she was sinking into the mortal world and despair, he took to a more active role in forcing her to not forget faerie.
Tybalt is quoted as saying he first realized he truly cared or started falling in love with Toby when she gave him the hope chest. I think by this act and how she approaches being a hero, Tybalt saw himself when he rose to claim his kingship in London; i.e. he did it because he had to and to save the cait sidhe of that realm and not from any ambition, if the description of Rat-Catcher and Forbid The Sea are anything to go by.
Tybalt discovered Toby's true heritage by hunting down Amandine. He was able to convince her to tell him by convincing her that Toby not knowing was putting her in danger and by swearing to not tell Toby himself and to protect her. He got around the oath to not tell her by teasing her curiosity; i.e. you have lied to me but you did not know it.
Things to keep in mind: Tybalt was in SF during the 1906 earthquake and in London until at least 1666. Still not sure when he came to the new world.
Also, I finished An Artificial Night and am now onto Late Eclipses. It is very interesting to be reading the series like this as the first three books are definitely the first act and now we are moving into the second.
