 OK, The Shannara Chronicles is actually on MTV and not on SyFy (and yes I was totally misspelling it before as SciFy). It is also cheesy and somewhat dramatic (perhaps over dramatic) but it doesn't make fun of itself or take it's self too seriously. And I'll be damned, it sucked me in. I almost binged all 4 episodes last night and only stopped when streaming issues arose and I realized it was past my bed time.

7/10 I think, at least for now.

I fin I really don't like the way everybody are those well-scrubbed entitled teenagers or college students, especially the elves. That rather turns me off.

True, they could be a lot messier and less college aged. And maybe once i get past the race against the demons it will peter-out for me, but I'll enjoy the ride while I can. I know the first episode dragged for me and it felt very typical YA.

I do find myself giggling at Alannanon. He's so serious and fear/respect me puny people.

ETA: Oh! Did you see the promo for season 3 of Penny Dreadful? Things are not looking well for Ethan and Vanessa!
