bjornwildeBrainstorming about Sabine and Ahsoka behind the cut, spoilers likely.
Speculating on Ahsoka's role in Rebel Intelligence and a reminder that she is not space James Bond...or should I say Space Atomic Blonde? So what do we know? In Rebels season one, she is coordinating supply drops (ep07: Out of Darkness), advise policy with a rebel cell (ep14: Rebel Resolve), and bring in a strike force (ep15: Fire Across the Galaxy).
In season two, she seems to be both hunting down the identity of Darth Vader and tracking inquisitors capturing force sensitive children. And of course, confronting Vader in the finale.
From the Ahsoka novel, she says she's done with fighting; which I take to mean leading large battles, since she's obviously still willing to fight. I think she is done being a soldier. So where does that leave her?
I remember at the end of Ahsoka, when she signs up with Bail, that she points out how pockets of insurrection are in danger since there is no communication or support network. I think this is the clue to what role she plays in Rebel Intelligence. She's a coordinator, recruiter, and messenger; as well as keeping her ear out for any intel on Imperial activities or new rebels. She then drops the line to Bail and he decides if support is required/deserved. This allows her to help without being a military person. She is not a spy per se, but she does engage in spy activity.
Sabine's thoughts are really just this past post and thinking of how the New Mandalorians seem like they were more benevolent Fascists than the ideal pacifists presented. Possible ideas are Sabine finding a book about the change in power during the Clone Wars and the switch to Imperial occupation. My main concern is that I am not sure if I'm the person to touch on a story so deeply seated in racism and eugenics, nor what the story has to do with Sabine now. The possibility is fascinating, but I am just not sure it needs to be told and told by me, a white male.
