I also read some comic trades over the weekend.

Old Man Logan, the original story arc. Amazing art as only McNiven can do. I loved this Logan and Hawkeye, and was intrigued by the world but the whole story felt rushed, especially the ending.

Scales and Scoundrels by Sebastian Girner. A fun fantasy knockoff with hints of pop culture for flavoring. Art was nice but the story didn't leave me wanting more. Might be your thing, but the main character didn't seem too deep to me. Definite hints of a deeper world but I gave the guy an entire volume. I should've gotten something beyond the dungeon crawl for my trouble. Still I would suggest the first volume as a fun read.

Vampironica looks promising. I never thought I'd say that about an Archie comic spin-off, but here I am. Great art and set up. Very curious as to where it will go.

Mister Miracle (preview). I am limited on my comics budget and so usually just stick with Comixology's unlimited for new comics, but I heard Big Barda is back and this title is more slice of life for her and Scott, so I wanted to check it out. I am intrigued and might be buying a collected edition when one is available.

Marvel Two-In-One #4, or Ben and Johnny go hunting for Reed, Sue, and the kids. This issue was the best of the bunch as Ben and Johnny are finally kicking about the multiverse. Bonus points for Ben punching a rude Logan through a building. I am a sucker for Ben and Logan's frenemy fights.

In future reading news, I'm checking out a few books which feature lesbian protagonists. Mostly since I seem to want to be writing one and I have had limited exposure to such stories anyway. I can't decide if my avoiding any title with a male author a bad thing or not, but I figure until I get more familiar with proper writing of lesbian characters, I'll avoid the men. I've read plenty of men who get hetero women wrong, so I feel I'm justified.

I checked out In a Glass Darkly by Sheridan Le (I was hoping for some fantasy but looks like Gothic horror dominates. Like I want witches and magic users, not vampires.../whine) and Stray City by Chelsey Johnson. Also, who is David Schmid and why does he have some many titles under the lesbian keyword search on Hoopla?
