 The thing which wants writing but is being a wild boar to actually write kind of congealed into "Cinderella but if she were a dragon that ran away instead of going to the ball" this morning. Now to see if that realization gives it more of a story. The whole thing started as a few characters and a cool-to-me setting, but didn't have much of a story being an opening arc and a general theme.
