Still sick but feeling better. Enough so that I think I may be going in to work tomorrow. I've now finished the first season of Robotech, i.e. the first Robotech War, and I've decided Max wouldn't be a good pup for Milliways. Mostly because the canon is so huge and long; some 36 episodes. Also some things I just know I would have to try and fix, like the SDF-1 being able to get from Pluto to Earth in one year without folding space, which would likely end up ruining the fun. I did this with Palamedes and it just warped the pup out of their canon.

All the flak around Batwoman and DC editorial's response, and their views on how a hero's life should be, are making me wary of app'ing Kate again as well. I know I can just go AU with her and haven't completely let go. Heck, it could be fun to play in a universe not limited to the whims of Didio .

I've also discovered a neat new thing, well new to me, RWBY! It's sort of like Buffy meets Grimm with a dash of Sucker Punch (without the Snyder-isms) wrapped in a lovely anime package and delivered online every week. I think I'm enamored of the character Yang Xiao Long, who is basically Ben Grimm with a sunny disposition and no body image issues. Oh and her weapons of choice are shotgun gauntlets. Yes, shotgun gauntlets.

I might have made a journal for her, too, [personal profile] audlocks . Which is a phonetic riddle of sorts. AU=Gold+D+Locks=Goldilocks is one way of looking at it. The other is AU'd 'Locks, i.e. an AU Goldilocks as that is what she is.

Getting back into the novelization of Macross and smiling at all the straw men the author comes up with to explain the weird things within Macross and make them more real world. For instance, the pilots use thought helmets to control the veritechs, basically making them Riggers (ala Shadowrun) which I have to admit is a cool touch. He then uses this to explain why the veritechs "fly" like they are in an atmosphere when in space; the pilots are used to thinking that way so the craft fly that way. He completely ignores the square-cube law, though, and so doesn't even try to explain the Zentrani.

I am also being reminded just how annoying Rick and Minmay were.
