Oh, so I finally saw the New Star Trek
Dec. 15th, 2010 11:16 amAnd I have to say I liked it. I liked all the nods to the source material. I liked the pacing of the story and the effects were outstanding.
I loved the feel of the Enterprise. How the sections like the Bridge were very completed looking but sections like engineering looked uncompleted and industrial with lots of pipes. There were times the uncompleted or rough areas felt more like an industrial factory and not a star ship though.
I loved Spook and I didn't see Sylar at all which was one of my fears. I did like the Spook/Uhura match though it felt like it came out of the blue.
I didn't like Kirk. To me he came across as a bully rather than a maverick but I'm willing to give the next movie a watch as well.
And is there anything better than seeing a federation vessel with phasers and torpedoes blazing? I hope Sulu and Chekov get some air time next movie and I loved McCoy and Scotty.
