Aug. 17th, 2013 07:07 pm Getting back into the novelization of Macross and smiling at all the straw men the author comes up with to explain the weird things within Macross and make them more real world. For instance, the pilots use thought helmets to control the veritechs, basically making them Riggers (ala Shadowrun) which I have to admit is a cool touch. He then uses this to explain why the veritechs "fly" like they are in an atmosphere when in space; the pilots are used to thinking that way so the craft fly that way. He completely ignores the square-cube law, though, and so doesn't even try to explain the Zentrani.
I am also being reminded just how annoying Rick and Minmay were.
