 Today is a sort of lazy, rainy Saturday. I've just spent the last hour keeping the apartment's maintenance guys company while they work to clear a backup on my kitchen sink. They ended up having to take all the pipes apart to get at the blockage. Note to self, don't put any amount of rice or peels down the garbage disposal side ever again. Put them in the garbage instead.

I'm also gearing up to sew some blackout curtains for my daughter's room, whose window faces a stairwell  light which is on all night. All I am doing is adding a panel to the top and bottom of an existing velvet curtain which isn't quite long enough but I am dreading it cause the curtain is like 4 feet long and I suck at sewing straight lines longer than a foot.

 Random thought, inspired by the new lightsaber in the Star War VI teaser, a basket hilt lightsaber where the hand guard is made or laced with cortosis (which shorts out lightsaber blades). Block your enemies saber and then twist your hand to short out their blade.
