The World According to Me
Mar. 19th, 2012 11:14 amI think I need to get an industrial supply of mint tea and carry it around as it seems to beat any headache I start to get into submission. I guess mint is anti-inflammatory or something.
The move out of the old place continues but is reaching its conclusion. We have all but two rooms left and tonight I will be heading over to work on it some more though my daughter won't be happy with it. She hates going there as "it's boring". Oh the hard life of a 9 year old.
Speaking of, she seems to have this perception that I ignore her for FB games so I am hereby giving myself permission to not check my game statuses even if that quest is only for 2 days. Somethings are more important even if she does desert me for Animal Jam at the drop of a hat. Tonight though I have plans of introducing her to Magic the Gathering. We've tried the Pokemon card game and it was fun but she lost so isn't too enthused about it. Since I never did well at MtG I figured she'll have a better chance of beating me. She also may be getting into Young Justice but we try not to give too much TV time. She is definitely hooked on Adventure Time.
Books...put aside Magic in the Blood for Walls of the Universe. Magic in the Blood just seemed to wander and didn't know what to do with itself. I'll likely pick it back up though as I am curious about the world and I like the idea of magic having a price for every spell. I'm also listening to Nightlife and it's pretty good. I've read better but it's fun.
Character idea: an older guy who travels around as a roadie looking for those just discovering magical abilities. This upsets the Order who feel they are the only ones qualified to teach magic. Ultimately it turns out the guy used to be a member of the Order but didn't like the black and white view of the world the Order practiced and developed in pupils, feels magic like life is technicolor not mono or duotone.
And why does ever copy of possible canon for Sun Wukong seem to not exist in my public library? I keep requesting books that turn out to not be there.
