Sword arrest (11/7 DV)
A Mountain View man faces assault charges for allegedly wielding a sword at a neighbor. Mountain View police have arrested a 36-year-old man for using his sword against a neighbor who wanted him to turn down his music early yesterday morning. Police say Gary Taylor chased the man back into his apartment when he took out the 17-inch blade sword and plowed it through his door before leaving. The unidentified neighbor, who was not harmed during the ordeal, later came out and found his tires slashed. A SWAT team and hostage negotiators had to be called in to persuade Taylor to leave his apartment. No one was injured during the ordeal.
17" Blade??? That's nothing. That's shorter than the typical Roman short sword by 5". Can that be called a sword?
