As promised, my thoughts. Behind a cut cause spoilers...
Overall, I liked it. I could have loved it but I liked it. I feel like it couldn't decide between being an action movie or a romance. Seriously, like everyone had some moment of romance. I did get a laugh at Tony and Thor arguing over whose woman was more awesome.

All but two of the visions made sense to me. Tony's "oh shit the world has ended and I couldn't do anything" was perfect. Natasha's glimpses of the Red Room were spot on, though a bit confusing; which I'm OK with. Also, I can't help but feel that Whedon and the writers never bothered to see Cap2 and all of Nat's awesome characterizations. This Nat was nothing like her.

Steve's was wrong. After Cap2, I feel like Steve has accepted losing Peggy. His vision should have revolved around Bucky. Period. Either not being able to save him or seeing him be the monster Bucky thinks he is.

And Thor's vision...OK it sort of makes sense but all that really did was serve as a hint to Thor3; which makes me wonder if the visions were dictated to Whedon. And what the hell was up with the vision pool? Yes it makes sense for his culture to seek clarity for the vision Thor had but I feel like 5 or 10 minutes were cut from that scene. Like, what was in that box that Erik Selvig was carrying? My guess is the Norn stones and I am betting we will get an extended scene when the DVD comes out.

Natasha having to be saved. Didn't like it but I did like that she jury-rigged a comm to ID her location and can see why she wouldn't want to take on Ultron's army alone. It also served to get the team where they needed to be.

Nat's infamous "I'm a monster cause I'm sterile" speech. I think this was just bad writing. I get they were trying to say two different things--a) I have no future cause I was sterilized and b) I was trained to only care about killing, whose the real monster?--but they mangled the dialog so the two ideas ran over each other. By they, I mean the writers.

Nat & Bruce. I can see it and to be honest I didn't like Nat & Clint or Nat & Steve, preferring her to be there for her own sake and not for a love story. Your mileage may vary.

Clint's pep talk to Wanda. Again, I chalk this up to bad or unclear writing. Or at least them not showing how much she was blaming herself for everything, which was true. Her mind whammy on Stark caused the chain of events to bring about Ultron. I do think Natasha might have been a better person for the speech though.

Loved the twins and loved the seemingly true (to me) accents. Still grumpy that they erased the Romi and Jewish heritage. Still grumpy they had them volunteer to HYDRA without some hint of duplicity on HYDRA's part. They could have even pushed more for the enemy of my enemy or something to justify it.

SAM!!!! Of course my boy is still out there taking care of Steve's business so Cap can go and save the world. With Sam being missing from the helicarrier fight, my fic brain wondered if he wasn't with Bucky kicking some HYDRA ass. Might be something to look into. Love his new suit! I wish I could get a high res view of it.

And the Thanos mid-credits scene...was it me or did it seem like a cop out? Sam & Bucky would have been a better scene. #just saying.

SAM IS IN THE AVENGERS!!!!!!!

Seriously though, did there need to be so much romance?

Vision, aka Purple Daddy. Can't wait to see more of you. And yes, I laughed when he handed Thor his hammer all casual like, even though I knew it was coming. So if he's made of vibranium, is he indestructible?
