 And one for the laughs...in the next bit of Rollo foolishness, he grabs a red hot knife for the woman he loves who tells him to shape up or stab himself with the knife and get it all over with.

I've been puzzling why he grabbed the knife's glowing blade the past few days and I have an idea, but I am going to share the funny that just occurred to me. He is so messed up from drinking too much and poor eating that he had meant to grab her hand but missed, getting the red hot blade instead. And once you make that mistake, you just have to roll with it, right?

Oh Rollo -- never change! When I watched with my Little Lady, her favourite was Björn, but she was extremely amused about Rollo's odd pronouncements and weird actions...

I think I might be mixing both this and my original thought together as I have a soft spot for gallows humor and slap stick.

Rollo is not so pleased with my amusement.

Rollo doesn't think he's funny at all. The Little Lady begs to differ -- she's in stitches giggling when she merely thinks of "I tried to get out of your shadow, but there was no sunlight" (quoting freehand) because Rollo is so earnest and morose there...

I really hope they don't have the brothers fighting next season.

My bet is on Ragnar dying as per Gesta Danorum, that is, on the way back from Paris soomehow ending up in Northhumbria and being pitched into Aelle's snake pit; whoever returns to Paris is not Ragnar. It might be Kalf and Erlendur, for whom Rollo won't have any love lost, anyway. Bjorn goes north and west, Floki needs to discover Iceland, and the other sons of Ragnar Lothbrok aren't grown yet.

If Rollo is lucky, he gets to enjoy his duchy and his princess (for a given value of 'enjoy'), and none of his friends and relatives come back with bad intentions ever.

That works for me. Or Ragnar makes it back and they face each other on a field of battle but parley instead of attacking straight away. Rollo is like, "These are my lands now brother. Would you fight me to claim them?"

I'd be interesting in seeing them talk things through for once. ; p

Ragnar makes it back with Lagertha and Floki and the lot, and they just feast with Rollo and then he sends them on their way with some huge gifts, to attack somewhere else, and Rollo sends the bill to the king. And a mighty big bill it is...

And the king has to pay, cause he knows otherwise Rollo will call Ragnar back. LOVE IT!
