 I think the hardest part of being a parent is ignoring what I call my parent voice. It's the one that suspicious of my daughter and doubts anything that keeps her from doing things that she should be doing. I hate it. I can trust my daughter to know her anxiety and pain levels.

I know this one, too (although it comes out for different reasons), and, yeah, it's really hard.

I had meant to write "bad parent voice" since I know I got it from my dad and/or society's opinion that you can't trust teen agers.
