State of the pups
May. 22nd, 2013 07:28 pm Still enjoying A Game of Thrones and have just started the first chapter that focuses on Jon Snow. Still liking the little guy but am not feeling the strong urge to make a journal like I was this morning. *cough* walled_bastard *cough* I'm planning to at least wait to see if another journal name occurs to me.
Which leads me to the meat of this post, looking at the new/old voices in my head. I'm just looking at this this time rather than the whole lot.
Mulan (Once Upon A Time): Still love her but I am having doubts. She seems quite strong but I don't know if she wants me to tell her story or if she really belongs in Milliways. I also need to consider how Milliways will affect her canon since she may meet Storybrooke peeps and be exposed to technology. I'd likely bring her in shortly after Snow and Emma return to Stroybrooke to handle her lack of familiarity with guns.
Nolan (Defiance): Strong and my brain is busy trying to piece together his and Irisa's past. I also find myself looking forward to Tuesdays when new canon comes (I watch online at lunch) and I just love the world.
Batwoman/Kate Kane (DC Comics): She has been haunting me for sometime; ever since the second Batwoman #0 when we got to see her training. I also like that the Medusa/Urban Monster story arc is finally done and am looking forward to the new twists to her personal relationships. If I bring her back I am going to stick with her as Batwoman for a while as I think the trouble I had before was trying to have her be two different people.

Mar. 18th, 2013 01:53 pm So only a half-day of work as Her Ladyship is sick and her Grandmother was only able to watch her until lunch. May get some serious tagging in, may not as I still have laundry to do and her school work, as while she is absent from school, the work continues!
I'm about halfway through A Princess Of Mars and damn, why did I wait this long to read it? Quality entertainment y'all. Don't know about the movie though. I'm not sure whom I like more, John Carter or Tars Tarkas (whom I've always been drawn to despite having never read the books).

Bad thoughts
Apr. 26th, 2012 03:55 pmAnother one of the characters from the Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel that I love is Niten. An immortal human better know to us, and history, as Miyamoto Musashi. I've thought of playing him before but not too seriously. Then, just now, two possible PBs popped in my head; Byung-hun Lee (the actor who played Storm Shadow in the recent GI Joe movies) and Dong-gun Lang (the lead from The Warriors Way).

So 616 Ben, Julie/84, Thalia, Kate Kane/Batwoman and Mars are firmly in the staying box.
I'm tempted to let Ult. Ben go as getting through that last bit of OOM for 616 Ben took a lot out of me and I know Ult.'s canon will be tough as well and I'm not sure I want to go through with it. Plus now that 616 Ben is in his happy place, I kind of feel like two Ben's is too much. Ult. Ben still has a lot of potential for Millicanon though since the Ultimate writers seem to have forgotten about him and Susan.
Val von Doom is another I'm tempted to let go. I think I might be feeling like I have too many comic characters. There's still potential but I'm just not sure I want to go there.
Fresh faces:
Agent Phil Coulson seems a lot of fun. He seems to have this ability to talk to just about anyone. Definite potential there and I'd already have canon mates with Tony and Pepper. There was also a Hawkeye I played with briefly when I played with Coulson in![[community profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/community.png)

Palamedes has come back in a strong way and it wasn't even due to re-listening to his canon. I think it's because I finally found a PB which matches canon. I'd love to be able to play in an Arthurian sandbox and this guy fits the bill. Plus him being immortal is just icing!
Griffin O'Connor is still a tempting head voice. I think I like him as he's morally grey and all my other pups are definite white hats. And I'll be honest, Moist's high jinx look like fun and I can see Griffin having a blast with him. And teleporters are always fun.
Lastly, Kerra Holt still holds a lot of appeal. I think it is two fold, a) because she'd be a Star Wars character and b) cause she's fighting a one jedi war against the Sith from within Sith space. Gotta love that.
So four tempting head voices for three available slots and two current head voices that I might let go.

Apr. 13th, 2012 03:05 pmMusic is a dangerous and wondrous thing. I was going through my playlists and came across one I had made for Palamedes from The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel series and I'll be damned if the old fellow didn't wake up.
To be honest in the books he's not much of a character, spending most of his time supporting other characters. But so many hints are dropped about him that make him fascinating and I hope Mr. Scott doesn't forget him in future books once he's through with the main series this May. I mean what's not to love about a guy who's been immortal since before the time of King Arthur, is best friends with William Shakespeare (in fact in canon his story inspired Shakespeare to write Othelo), who still carries a torch for Iseult, who is the only being given free passage through any Shadow Realm (with no ill effects) and spends his time rescuing mortals who fall into or are kidnapped to said Shadow Realms? And did I mention he built a friggin' castle out of scrap cars in London (with no one noticing) and plays host to larve, lemures and Gabriel hounds? It's also been hinted at in interviews with the author that he's part of an unbroken Round Table of Knights that he has helped keep active! He even has ties to Sherwood forest (his Elder Master lives there).

Now I'll admit I learned pretty quickly that any model listed with the last name of suicide is not a work safe model to do a google search of due to the likely hood of said model posing for the suicide girls website but by not including suicide in the search I discovered her Model Mayhem page which lists her as Salliss North and has less risque photos.

Jan. 11th, 2012 08:37 am Listening to Throwing Muses this morning and getting in gear to clean out my in box. Signed up for Fitocracy.com (thank you for the invite Cam) and it looks like a good, push-type website for exercising. I've worked with Spark People before which is a good site but it relies more on you doing things and doesn't "assign" you things to do like Fitocracy does. Now if I could just figure out how to give props back.
I am hoping post-lunch I will get a chance to play a bit but with how work has been I'm not holding my breath. I'm also thinking of applying Mars to Milliways but am waiting to hear if he counts as an Ares as Ares is a retired character.

I think I'll be starting Diane Wynn Jones' Chrestomanci series next. I'm actually still reading Airborn but last night I miss placed it and so picked up The Chronicles of Chrestomanci: Volume One (which includes Charmed Life and The Lives of Christopher Chant) and before I knew it I was twenty pages in.
In Milliways news, I think I need to figure out how to exit Ult. Ben Grimm from the stage once he finishes helping the Half-Life world. Now that I am focused on bringing 616 Ben back, two Ben's is feeling too much. I may change my mind but that's where I am right now. I'm also going back and forth on whether to keep Jessica Drew. Maybe I just need to focus on her being an agent of Sword and not bother with canon aside from the vaguest of nods.
And with that, I think I am going to take the morning off of tagging. Or wait until the coffee kicks in. ; p I do need to EP Val and I have a Julie Finster EP waiting as well.
The Yuletide project continues nicely. I have a much better idea of direction now though I haven't written any more since yesterday.
Oh I forgot the weird Mozambique posters of super heroes self-checking for breast cancer. Stay classy Mozambique. Okay the Wonder Woman and Strom don't bug me but the She-Hulk bursting through a wall and then self-checking or Catwoman self-checking with her claws just doesn't seem right.

Oh I forgot the weird Mozambique posters of super heroes self-checking for breast cancer. Stay classy Mozambique. Okay the Wonder Woman and Strom don't bug me but the She-Hulk bursting through a wall and then self-checking or Catwoman self-checking with her claws just doesn't seem right.

One of the characters I play over in Milliways Bar is Thalia Grace from the Percy Jackson/Heroes of Olympus series' of books and I have always had a hard time finding a good PB icon for use (PB icon means played by icon, think casting the role for a movie). I have been using Maggie Grace from 12 Mile Road and she's been really close but the hair is all wrong and she reminds people of her Lost character too much.
