Aduible had another book sale and I got some goodies! Canto Bight, which I bought pretty much cause it has a short story by Mira Grant (Seanan McGuire), Beyond the Veil by Pippa DaCosta (urban fantasy with demons), Wild Wastes: Eastern Expansion by Randi Darren (which kinda seems like Mad Max with elves, humans, and such), and Into the Drowning Deep by Mira Grant (So looking forward to this one and saving it for last).
Amazon also had a sale on Dreadnought by April Daniels, which is a super hero prose novel with a trans woman protagonist. Very much looking forward to this one as well and I'm tempted to get the audiobook so I can read it faster. And I just looked and Audible had it on sale for $2! Woot!
And my current book is Master Magician, the third book in the Paper Magician series. I'll be honest, when I started this series I didn't think it'd be one that would win me over. I bought it cause it was on sale for super cheap and the books are short, each being about 6-7 hours, but I have grown to like it.
Sleep has been going well for me. I'm actually getting longer periods of light and deep sleep rather than the jumble of 10-15 minute blocks of each.
And lastly, I'm beginning to think I am juggling too many characters in Milliways. I love them all, but I think I just don't have the mental spoons to play so many. At the very least I need to 'freeze' about half of them so I can focus on and get the others more play and advancement through canon. I'm tempted to cut some and only do the "this character is fun but doesn't really want their story told" characters in either PFSB or Mixed Muses.
This would likely mean cutting John Proudstar, Valkyrie, and Selina, as they have the least exposure and ties to Milliways. Selina I've already decided on cutting as I haven't wanted to watch Gotham in ages. Nothing against the show, it just went in directions I wasn't interested in playing.
OK, enough rambling, time to do some work and get into rpg brain.
ETA: Oh, I forgot! Unstoppable Wasp got a new breath of life and has a new ongoing title!!! I'm also loving the new art style.

Date: 2018-06-13 04:55 pm (UTC)A friend just finished the first book of the Paper Magician series and was underwhelmed, but a couple of other people mentioned that it gets better as it goes along, so maybe I won't scratch it off my list entirely...
